Last night the girls’ golf team competed in its first match of the season taking on Paul Hadley at Heartland Crossing. Despite intermittent rain showers and only able to play 6 holes, the team persevered and came away with a victory. East 158—Paul Hadley 175. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was 8th grader Vivian Bell with a 35, who was also named medalist of the match. Coming in overall 2nd place was 7th grader Adrienne Austin with a 39. Rounding out the scoring for the Dogs were 7th grader Anna Sinclair with a 41 and 6th grader Lexi Kelley with a 43. The girls are back in action tonight at Pittsboro Golf Course taking on Lebanon.
Last night the girls’ golf team hosted Lebanon in their second match of the season. It was a close match, but ultimately the girls’ golf team suffered their first loss of the short season. Final score Lebanon 224, Brownsburg 231. It was a learning experience for the girls that they will use moving forward. The Bulldogs were led by 7th grader Phoebe Brothers with a 47, who was also named co-medalist of the match. Rounding out the Bulldogs’ scoring were 6th grader Kendall Myers with a 57, 8th grader Sam Abel with a 63, and 6th grader Lila Jones with a 64. The Dogs are back in action Tuesday taking on Avon South at Oak Tree Golf Course.
Last night the girls’ golf team took on Avon South at Oak Tree Golf Course. It was hot and humid with limited shade, so the girls’ had a tough time getting into a rhythm. Despite the conditions, the Bulldogs came away with the victory defeating Avon South 184 to 207 after taking only the top three scores due to Avon’s limited personnel. 7th grader Phoebe Brothers led the pack with a 57, and was named medalist of the match. 8th grader Vivian Bell and 7th grader Adrienne Austin rounded out the scoring with a 66 and 62. Kendall Myers, Amber Dunn, Lila Jones and Lexi Johnson also played well. The girls are back tonight at Pittsboro Golf Course to take on Avon North.
Last night the girls’ golf team once away came away victorious. The ladies hosted Avon North on a beautiful evening, and recorded a final score of 222 to Avon North’s 258. 7th grader Phoebe Brothers was again named medalist for her third match in a row, with a score of 50. 7th grader Anna Sinclair came in 2nd overall with a solid 54, followed by 8th grader Sam Abel who was 3rd overall with a 58. 8th grader Carli Peak and 6th grader Anna Grace Deatline tied with a 60 to round out the team scoring. Also having their best rounds so far this season were 6th grader Lexi Kelley, 8th grader Kaylin Traut and 7th grader Edie Stout. The girls are back in action on Tuesday traveling to Riverside Golf Course.
(Rescheduled from 09-12-2018) The girls’ golf team has had a busy couple of days this week. On Wednesday, the girls traveled up to Zionsville Golf Course to take on the Eagles. Conditions were wet, and the Bulldogs suffered their second loss of the season with a final score Zionsville 185-Brownsburg East 226. 7th grader Phoebe Brothers led the way with a 51, 6th grader Anna Grace Deatline had a personal best score of 57 as did 7th grader Edie Stout with a 61.
On Thursday, the girls participated in the County Tournament. Out of 5 schools, East placed 2nd overall with three of the five golfers placing with a top ten individual score. 7th grader Phoebe Brothers shot a 50, which placed her in a 3-way tie for 1st place. 8th grader Sam Abel shot a 58 place her in 6th place, and 8th grader Vivian Bell shot a 59 to take 9th place overall. The girls are back in action on Tuesday to take on Zionsville West at Zionsville Golf Course.
Last night, the girls’ golf team traveled to Zionsville Golf Course to take on Zionsville West. Despite the heat, humidity and biting bugs, the team was able to secure a victory over the Eagles 212 to 218. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was 7th grader Phoebe Brothers with a 48 and 2nd place overall, 8th grader Carli Peak had her best round of the season coming in with a 49 and placing 3rd place overall. Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was 8th grader Vivian Bell with a 54 and 6th grader Lexi Kelley with a 61. The girls are back in action on Thursday at West Chase Golf Course to take on Brownsburg West.
Last night the girls’ golf team competed against West at West Chase golf course. Though it was hot, it was a great night for golf and the girls’ played some of their fastest golf to date. It was very competitive match and the final score was East 230, West 229. Medalist of the match was 7th grader Phoebe Brothers with a 52, and coming in 2nd for East was Anna Sinclair with a 58. The girls are back in action on Monday taking on Center Grove Central at Bluff Creek.
On Saturday the girls’ golf team wrapped up its season at the conference tournament at Pebblebrook Golf Course. The girls struggled with the bitter cold at the start of the match, and the length/difficulty of the course. Ultimately, the team placed 4th out of seven teams with a 230. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was 7th grader Adrienne Austin who also placed in the Top 10 with a 55. Rounding out the scoring for the team was 8th grader Vivian Bell with a 58, 8th grader Carli Peak with a 57 and 7th grader Phoebe Brothers with a 60. Thanks for a great season girls!
