The 8th grade Bulldogs took on Plainfield at home last night. A team goal was to beat them this year. They came in strong and defeated the Quakers in 2 straight games. 25-14 and 25-11. Quinci Thomas dominated the net with 12 kills and Sarah Brough had a strong presence in the middle with 2 great kills that proved too much for Plainfield. Brynn Davis was consistent on the serving line with 15 serves and Payton Hinkle wasn’t far behind with 10 serves. The Bulldogs take on WEST at the BHS on Wednesday starting @ 6. Come cheer them on!
Your 8th grade Bulldogs took on West last night at the high school. The gym was filled with fans and the energy was high. East brought home the victory in 2 games 25-14, 25-10. The win was a total team effort with every player on the team stepping onto the court. Brynn Davis had 10 serves while Quinci Thomas, Sarah Brough, Katelyn Wise. Peyton Hinkle, Elise Hartsell, and Delaney Koles dominated the net. None of the kills would have been possible without great passing & setting from Mady Spence, Aubrey Polen, and Morgan Lucas. The 8th grade volleyball team went up against Carmel Middle School last night. They proved to be the girls’ best competition yet. They had strong serves and some hard hitters. It didn’t rattle your Lady Dogs for long. In the first game, the ladies had a season high of 100% serving percentage. Quinci Thomas had 11 kills, while “Pay Pay” Hinkle and Brynn Davis were also a strong presence at the net the whole night. Brynn Davis had 8 serves that were strong and Morgan Lucas had 7. Aubrey Polen and Mady Spence protected the floor with unbelievable digs. Carmel fell short to the unstoppableBulldogs. East brought home the victory in 2 games 25-15 & 25-16 bringing their record to 4-0 all with only 2 games a piece. Your 8th grade volleyball Bulldogs took on the Westfield Shamrocks last night. The match was an incredibly hard fought match by both teams. The teams were neck and neck passing back point for point. Ultimately, the Shamrocks narrowly took home the victory with close scores of 25-23 and 25-24. Coach Lee was very impressed by the Bulldogs and their willingness to fight their way almost to a victory. Quinci Thomas led the team with 11 kills and Morgan Lucas led the team with 11 serves. Special thanks to our student cheering section who helped keep the energy high the entire game. The girls take on Avon north tonight!!
Your 8th grade volleyball Bulldogs gave a dominating performance against Avon North last night. They won in 2 games 25-2 and 25-7. Morgan Lucas served 13 CONSECUTIVE serves in game 1 and 8 in game 2. Katelyn Wise also served 10 serves in a row during the first game. Great kills by Abby Dials, Quinci Thomas, and Katelyn Wise proved too much for Avon. All 12 girls hit the floor, some in new positions, and gave it their all. The girls head to Center Grove tonight to take on the Trojans!
Your 8th grade Bulldogs took on the Center Grove Trojans last night. In the first set, great hitting by the Trojans was making the girls work very hard to cover all parts of the court. It didn’t take long for them to adjust and begin digging whatever they were delivering to them. The girls won that game 25-17. In set 2, Mady Spence took on a new role as Libero! She helped dominate the back row with amazing saves and passes. Payton Hinkle had 8 serves and Brynn Davis brought the heat with WICKED 8 serves as well. Quinci Thomas led the team in kills and proved, once again, that she is just as dangerous in the back row then in the front row. The girls play Zionsville West at home on Tuesday at 5:30.
Last night, your 8th grade Bulldogs had an emotional night against Zionsville West. A pregame injury left the team without it’s starting setter 1 hour before their match. “Pay Pay” Hinkle stepped up in a big way leading the team as it’s only setter never having played that position before. Sarah Brough was a dominating force in her new position. Several other players were playing in positions they had never played causing the team to have ups and downs game 1. It got the best of them losing the first game 25-18. Determined to win the match for their injured teammate, game 2 was a different story. The Dogs beat Zionsville West 25-3. Brynn Davis almost single handedly won that game with 21 CONSECUTIVE serves!!! Game 3 went back and forth but East wanted it more winning game 3 15-14 and defeating Zionsville West in the match. Coach Lee could not be more proud of the girls overcoming this difficult situation. The girls play next at the Western Boone Invitational this Saturday. GO BEMS!!!!!
Your 8th grade Bulldogs played in the Western Boone Invitational over the weekend. The first match up was against West. The girls were still getting used to their new positions due to team injury and struggled at first to make a good play. However, the girls were able to shake it off, and beat West in the first game 25 to 15. In the second game, the girls tightened up their fundamentals with great serving passing and hitting. They defeated West in a 25-5 victory. The next opponent was Western Boone. They lost the first game 25–18. The girls never gave up, and gave it their all the second game. Determined to win, the girls pulled out a victory in the second game 25–24. Your lady dogs pushed hard that third tiebreaker game, but narrowly lost 15–12. The last match of the day was to Southwestern. They lost the first game 25-14 and tried to come back to win in game two but lost 25–21.
Coach Lee was proud of their effort, and it is excited to see what lies ahead with our four-game week this week. The girls take on Speedway tonight away but will be home on Tuesday against Lincoln.
Your 8th grade Bulldogs took on the Speedway Sparkplugs last night. In the first set, the girls won 25-10 and then again the second set with a dominating final score of 25-5. Quinci Thomas led the team with kills while Paige Kirtz, Sarah Brough, and Elise Hartsell also had great attacks from the net last night. Brynn brought her WICKED serving with her to Speedway serving 15 consecutive points. The team welcomed back Morgan Lucas from her injury and she came right back and helped the Dogs in game two serving 8 in a row. The 8th grade volleyball team hosted the Lincoln Lions last night. The match got of to a slow start as the Dogs were struggling to execute their communication and fundamentals. Sarah Brough got the momentum going with 9 serves game one, while a strong net presence by Quinci Thomas and Katelyn Wise led the Dogs to a 25-14 victory set 1.
In set 2, Mady Spence and Morgan Lucas led the team with 6 serves each. The girls were able to get some more plays going even though it was a slow moving game.Those plays proved too much for Lincoln and your Lady Dogs defeated them 25-12. Your 8th grade Lady Dogs hosted Zionsville last night. Set 1 started out exchanging point for point with the Eagles. The girls were focused on their fundamental skills and only worried about their side of the net to get the job done. Big kills by Quinci Thomas and “Pay Pay” Hinkle and incredibly accurate setting by Morgan Lucas allowed for your Lady Dogs to pull away and take the win 25-13.
In set 2, the ladies started out strong but had some communication errors that lost them the lead. They didn’t give up and started to clean up their plays. WICKED serves and hits by Brynn Davis started to help the girls get their momentum back. Our Libero, Mady Spence, had a BIG attack from the back row (her second one for the night) and delivered incredible passes to our setter to make our dominating plays possible. The ladies took this conference victory winning set 2 25-15 bringing their record for the week to 3-0. The 8th grade volleyball Lady Dogs traveled down the road to Avon South last night to play in their 4th game this week. From the very first point, the ladies traded point for point until the set was at 19-19. It was at this point Avon South got 5 straight points bringing the score to 24-19. But your team never gave up!! They got the serve back and they didn’t let anything hit the floor. There wasn’t one mistake made for 6 points and your Lady Dogs won set 1 25-24!!!!
In set 2, the Lady Dogs started out carrying the momentum from set 1, and got an early lead. The Orioles fought a good fight, but your Lady Dogs’ dominance proved too much for them finishing the set with another win 25-15.
Brynn Davis led the team with 15 WICKED serves in the match while Payton Hinkle and Morgan Lucas tied with 8 serves. Quinci Thomas led the Dogs with an incredible 11 attacks. Katelyn Wise, Sarah Brough, and Paige Kirtz also had a great night at the net. Mady Spence showed up in a big way as the libero making great passes all night. The ladies travel to Paul Hadley on Monday!
The 8th grade volleyball team traveled to Mooresville last night to take on the Pioneers. It was a complete team effort, with all 12 players hitting the court. Your Bulldogs defeated the Pioneers in 2 sets 25-20 and 25-14 bringing their record to 13-3. The highlight of the match was “Pay Pay” Hinkle - number 11- serving 17 amazing rockets across the net. 9 of them were consecutive. Come support your team in their last home game of the season against Southport on Thursday at 5:15!
Your 8th grade Lady Dogs hosted Southport last night in their last home match of the season. The ladies dominated both games, getting an easy win 25-6, 25-12,with the help of every player hitting the court. The main reason for their success was there solid serving. Morgan Lucas had 10 serves, Brynn Davis had an unbelievable 21 for the match, and Paige Kirtz delivered a great serve across the net! Quinci Thomas dominated the front AND the back row with 6 kills. This team victory was just what we needed to send the girls into the weekend where they play in the conference tournament in Zionsville on Saturday!
Your 8th grade Lady Dogs traveled to Zionsville Middle School Saturday for the Conference Tournament. The first match was against Zionsville and the girls came out strong. A strong presence at the net by Quinci Thomas and strong serves by several girls led the dogs to a 2-0 victory against their first opponent 25-16, 25-15.
Next round the girls took on BWMS. Again, with strong fundamentals and intensity, your Lady dogs dominated West. Quinci Thomas led the team with 9 kills. Morgan Lucas led the team with 17 serves for the match, 10 of which were aces. Brynn Davis also served over some WICKED deliveries to the West defense serving 13. Paige Kirtz stepped up in a BIG way getting some kills. An in game injury left the Dogs with some catching up to do in the second game but ultimately came away with a 25-5, 25-20 victory over West sending them to the CONFERENCE FINALS!!
Minutes before the final game, a devastating injury left the Dogs without their secret weapon against Westfield. The Dogs were adjusting to a new line up and played their hearts out against an incredible Westfield offense. Quinci led the team with 5 kills, Morgan Lucas led the team with 6 serves, and everyone gave it their all. It was a hard loss for the girls who fell short to Westfield 25-13, 25-15. Coach Lee is so proud of the girls for handling 2 major injuries, new positions, and a rough day with class and determination. 2nd place is this conference is something to be proud of. The girls head to Danville tonight at 5:30 to take on the Warriors in our final game of the regular season.
Your 8th grade Lady Dogs traveled to Danville last night for their last regular season game. In the first set, the girls came out strong. With “Pay Pay” Hinkle stepping up for her team once again in a new role as Libero. Perfect pass after perfect pass, she delivered the ball to Morgan Lucas who set up a lot of great plays. Paige Kirtz, Quinci Thomas, and Katelyn Wise were dominating at the net leading the Dogs to a 25-15.
In the second set the Warriors found some motivation to take the Dogs point for point in the first 18 points. With strong passes from “Pay Pay” Hinkle and Aubrey Polen, the girls were able to set up some great plays. Elise Hartsell, Brynn Davis and Quinci Thomas put the ball to the floor on the other side of the net. Katelyn Wise led the team in serves in the second set. The girls beat Danville 25-19.

Your 8th grade Lady Dogs headed to Plainfield last night to begin the county tournament. The first match was against West. The first set, the ladies came out strong delivering tough Service and well-placed hits to win quickly 25-7. In set two, the girls continued to sharpen their fundamentals and make a play every single time they received the ball. Strong hits from Quinci Thomas, Delaney Koles, and Payton Hinkle and some WICKED serving proved too much for the Bulldogs down the road and your East team won 25-10.
In the second match, the girls came out on fire against a tired Plainfield team. Your lady dogs were like a well oiled machine digging everything and making it into a play. Libero Mady Spence was making unbelievable saves to provide Morgan Lucas the ability to set a dominating Quinci Thomas at the net. BEMS won the first set 25–11. With awesome momentum building, set 2 was an easy flight. Great passing from Aubrey Polen and Mady Spence, kills from Katelyn Wise, and Payton Hinkle brought the Dogs a semi-final victory over Plainfield 25-15 send your team to the COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS!

Your 8th Grade Lady Dogs hosted Avon South last night in the County Championship! Eager to defend their title, the Dogs came out strong! Great serves by Morgan Lucas, Brynn Davis, and Katelyn Wise delivered great serves to the Orioles. Mady Spence played Libero last night and did not disappoint. The ladies easily defeated Avon South 25-9 in the first set.
Set 2 the ladies made things interesting going point for point with the Orioles. Great serves and domination at the net by Quinci Thomas, “Pay Pay” Hinkle, and Paige Kirtz proved too much for Avon South. Your Lady Dogs won 25-23 clenching their 2nd County Championship!! Coach Lee was honored to coach these girls this season and is so proud of them. Their final record was 20-4, beating out last year’s record. WAY TO GO LADIES!!!
