7th Grade Heading to Finals

Last night your Lady Dogs hosted the Lady Quakers of Plainfield in the 2nd round of County. Your Lady Dogs got off to a quick start, taking the Early lead 13 to 4 . Your Lady Dogs applied pressure on defense, forcing Plainfield into multiple turnovers. BEMS capitalize on the Lady Quakers mistakes, pulling away 25 to 5 at the half.

Your Lady Dogs played hungry coming out of the 2nd half. BEMS played unselfish basketball with 12 team assists and 7 girls scoring. Atta Garnett led the team with 15 points, going 3 for 5 from the free throw line, with 4 assists. Macy Twomey led the team in assists with 5, scoring 9 points, going 5 for 8 from the free throw line. Sophie Laycock scored 7 points, shooting 100% from the free throw line. Emma Hendricks contributed to the score with 4 points. And Aniyah Jones, Anna Sinclair and Mimi Kaba also contributed to the score with a bucket of peace.

Emma Hendrick led the team on defense with 5 steals, followed by Atta Garnett with 8 rebounds and 3 Steals. Macy Twomey had 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and one block. And Aniyah Jones also had a steal.

BEMS defeated Plainfield in round 2 of County 41 to 14. Your Lady Dogs will host the Lady Warriors of Danville at BWMS at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday for the final round of county.
