8th Grade Finishes Undefeated
8th grade Dogs took their perfect bird hunting record on the road Thursday night to take on the Southport Cardinals. Dogs were locked and loaded to remain undefeated in their middle school careers. Coach King Arthur’s defense set the tone by forcing the Cardinals to retreat early and often. The front four of Santana Alo, Jayden Jackson, Nick Johnson, and Baylor Hamilton relentlessly attacked the Southport offense. The Bulldogs’ offense would strike first blood on 25 yard jet sweep, TD run by Garrett Sherrell. Spencer Porath would drill his first of four made PATs on the night. Garrett Sherrell would get his second TD on the night, this time on special teams. He would go 80 yards to the house on an ensuing Southport punt. Cam Edwards would tack on another six points by going 50 yards on a Jack Dunn pass. After coming off the injury list, Isaac LaRoche hadn’t missed a beat. He would – as usual –pound away yard after yard on the ground putting the Dogs into another scoring situation. Jake Dunn would connect with Baylor Hamilton in the back of the endzone to put the game away at 28-0. The Cardinals would eventually score late in the second half to make it a 28-6 final. Congratulations, 8th grade on another perfect season!
